When the name of Oshawa's premier downtown sports and entertainment venue changed, the details of the deal were kept quiet. 

I made repeated attempts to get the information from regular sources, but was eventually left with the only option of trawling through the city's Freedom of Information process. 

It took months, but eventually was able to make public all the information around the $2.5 million deal.
