A Q&A with Patrick Brown on his tell-all book Take Down
“BROWN: Well, you know, I’ve seen memoirs that are very scripted, and frankly, they’re not real. What I wanted this to be was very honest, and I’m very direct and blunt and emotional in terms of what happened. And I hope that readers will enjoy it and think that it’s a very honest assessment of politics in Ontario and some of the realities of the course that Ontario has taken.”
Shortly after being elected as mayor of Brampton, Patrick Brown released a memoir that created waves across Ontario's political scene. I had a lengthy discussion with him about the writing process, the accusations made in the book, and whether he received any sense of closure with the book’s completion. Definitely one of my more interesting interviews of the year so far.
For our launch of The Pointer - Brampton, we ran an in-depth profile on Brown, written by our talented feature writer Rick Drennan.
